40 hectares of green in the heart of central Milan, up against the Sforza Castle. It’s Simplon Park (Parco Sempione), a rather vast garden where nature and history come together. If you’re after sumptuous buildings and shopping alleys, you can just walk across the park, coming from the north, to reach your main destinations. Otherwise, you can venture along its tree-lines to discover monuments and attractions of all kinds.
Highlights at Parco Sempione
Parco Sempione is in fact the house of Palazzina Appiani and a Roman City Gate, two historical landmarks of Milan. What’s more, the Civic Aquarium is inside the park, as well as the museum La Triennale di Milano. Lastly, the Branca Tower is an invisible outpost which will give you amazing views of the city. Take the lift up to find yourself right over the Sforza Castle and the Cathedral.
