Highlights: Be sure to explore the 700m Gran Viale Santa Maria Elisabetta. It’s a long stretch of restaurants and shops. It’s very tourist-orientated, but then, the Lido has always been specifically oriented towards tourists. Just off shore is a the small island of San Lazzaro degli Armeni, where you can visit Lord Byron’s study room!
Top Tips: The Venice Film Festival is held here in September every year. Local and international stars gather, so be sure to take your autograph book!
